HP Rivers second poetry collection, Love Song for the Revolution, is a journey through grief, hopelessness, and healing, framed within narrative poems based on the author’s lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent, pagan, Unitarian Universalist solo parent and religious professional living in appalachia.
The collection is curated to tell a story and all named events are presented chronologically. while some of the themes are heavy, the author intentionally ends on a steadfastly hopeful and pastoral note, speaking to the discernment and development of their call to ministry over the six-year era from 2019 - 2025 during which these poems were crafted.
